2022–2023 SEASON PLANNING

Invitation for Faculty & Guest Directors with a Specific Title to Direct

Dear Director,

To incorporate more student involvement in the decision-making process, Emerson Stage has changed the way that we select our season making it more transparent and open to all students, faculty, and staff to submit titles that they would like to see considered for production. 

As we begin the season selection process for the 2022–2023 Season, we are reaching out to potential directors (both Emerson faculty directors and guest directors) to contribute to this process and, potentially, our season.

You are invited and encouraged to participate in season planning for the 2022-2023 Emerson Stage season by submitting a specific show that you are specifically interested in directing for the Emerson Stage 2022–2023 Season. 

This submission form will give you the opportunity to talk a little bit about the show and your vision for the production. 

Submissions will be reviewed by subcommittees comprised of students and faculty in these five areas: Acting, Musical Theatre, Theatre Education, Design/Tech & Stage Management, and Theatre.  These subcommittees will evaluate submissions in terms of how each title aligns with curricular needs, offers interesting production challenges to each of our BFA programs, and demonstrates Emerson Stage’s commitment to producing a diverse range of stories, told from an array of perspectives and through a variety of styles. After reading and vetting the titles, each subcommittee will make recommendations to the Emerson Stage Committee,  a committee comprised of students, faculty, and staff.

Please note that while our general submission form is anonymous for the submitter, this form is not.

Submissions will be collected up until May 7th.
