NewFest Short Works 2024

Short plays written, directed, and performed by Emerson College Performing Arts students.

March 21-23, 2024
Semel Theater

Program A will perform Thursday, March 21 at 8 PM and Saturday, March 23 at 4 PM
Program B will perform Friday, March 22 and 8 PM and Saturday, March 23 at 8PM
All performances open to the public

Run Time: Program A runs 1 hour 40 minutes.
Program B runs 80 minutes.

Program A Advisories
CHEKHOV’S GUN includes use of a simulated firearm, gunshot sound effects, and mentions of murder. 
FLUFF includes mentions of depression.
CAT’S OUT OF THE BAG includes implied death of a pet (a cat), depiction of a dead animal, and fake blood.
PRUNE includes depiction of relationship violence, simulated vomiting, fake human organs, discussions of pregnancy.
GOOSE includes the use of stage blood and discussion of suicide. It also includes flashing lights and loud firework sounds.

Program B Advisories:
ROADMAP includes a very loud wind sound.
PAYPHONE includes discussions of death and suicide.
THE HOTEL VISITANTS deals with grief and includes implications of suicide.
DON’T BE A STRANGER includes discussions of abusive relationships.
UNTIL THE ASTEROID FALLS includes discussions of the apocalypse.
