About the Show
In a sequel to Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, high school juniors Bill and Ted are told that they must turn their time-travel adventure into a rock opera to pass their history report. Bill and Ted rally their historical friends – from Beethoven to Joan of Arc – to create a show so triumphant, it might just save existence itself.
Our developmental reading of Bill & Ted’s Most Excellent Rock Opera allowed students from Emerson College, Berklee College of Music, and Boston Conservatory to collaborate on the first iteration of this upcoming musical. The process was led by the original Bill and Ted’s franchise writer, Chris Matheson. Alongside Chris were student actors, stage managers, and musicians, who worked with professional lyricists and producers to assemble the show over the course of a month. Designers Elodie Lambert and Parker Fedak rendered potential scenic and costume designs for a full-size production.
