Advancing Social Justice Through Performative Activism
In celebration of Hispanic/Latin American Heritage Month, Christina Marín, a faculty member in the Performing Arts’ Theatre Education program, will take part in two events organized by the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs and GLBTQ Resources on campus. Both events draw from her work and research on femicide in Ciudad Juárez in Chihuahua, Mexico using a technique known as performative activism.
She has a clear passion for the social justice issues involved in the cases from Ciudad Juárez. Hear Christina talk about her work and these events in the video below.
