Tony Time Continues

I’ve been listening to The Scottsboro Boys soundtrack all day, which is fitting given that I failed to mention Emerson alumna Jacki Barlia Florin, one of the producers of this musical, which was nominated for 12 Tony Awards, in my post yesterday.

Ms. Barlia Florin was involved as a producer not only of The Scottsboro Boys but also Jerusalem and the revival of the musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. As producer, she was nominated for for Best Musical for The Scottsboro Boys, Best Play for Jerusalem, and Best Revival of a Musical for How to Succeed. Jerusalem and How to Succeed took home prizes for Best Actor and Best Featured actor respectively.

And there is more! Brian Gold, a graduate of the BFA Stage/Production Management program is the Production Assistant on The Normal Heart, which won the Tony for Best Revival of a Play!
